AIR Dwingeloo is seeking two talented painters or draughtspeople for its second residency period, set in the Drenthe landscape beside Havezate Westrup.
Surrounded by Dwingelderveld National Park, AIR Dwingeloo offers two artists at a time a calm place to live and work, reflect, find inspiration and develop new work.
The open call is intended for talented painters and draughtspeople aged 35 or younger who live in the north of the Netherlands, or who live elsewhere and have a strong connection to the North, particularly Drenthe.
The residency includes free accommodation with new facilities, a €500 contribution and optional additional guidance. Artists retain the full proceeds from work sold during the concluding presentation.
Residents are expected to be present for approximately four days a week, work independently and bring their own materials. During the open studio weekend and the concluding presentation, they share their process and work with a broad audience.
A selection committee will choose two residents based on the quality and development of their practice, their cultural entrepreneurship and how AIR Dwingeloo could support their next step.
Your application should explain why you want to undertake a residency in this particular place and what you hope to explore or create during the period. Applications close on 1 November 2026.
