Jaime González Palencia and Lorenzo Modestini conclude their two-month residency with a joint presentation of new work at Galerie Dwingeloo.
During the first AIR Dwingeloo residency, the gallery’s two interconnected rooms become studios for Jaime González Palencia and Lorenzo Modestini. Surrounded by the Drenthe landscape, they have two months to research, experiment, reflect and further develop their individual visual languages.
The concluding exhibition reveals what has emerged from this intensive period of work. Paintings, drawings and works in progress show not only the outcome, but also the decisions, questions and discoveries behind the making. The presentation offers a direct encounter with two emerging artists and their current practices.
Both artists will be present during the exhibition to welcome visitors and discuss their work and process. Selected works will be available to purchase, with all proceeds going directly to the artists. In this way, AIR Dwingeloo supports both their artistic development and the entrepreneurial side of their practice.
AIR Dwingeloo is a new artist-in-residence programme in Drenthe for promising painters and draughtspeople with a connection to the North. The programme is organised on behalf of Galerie Dwingeloo by Jeanine de Boer of Kunstbureau ARTeria and Renate Coenraad of Enarte art consultancy & coaching.
