AIR DWINGELOO
At AIR Dwingeloo, young artists are given the space to live and work among art for two months. The gallery space temporarily becomes their studio, meeting place and starting point for new work.
During their stay, they can experiment, deepen their practice and exchange ideas with visitors and fellow makers. Afterwards, they present their work and creative process in the gallery: a visible conclusion to an intensive creative process.
The residence
Experiment in the open gallery space, with two private living areas upstairs where new inspiration can emerge in peace. A fully equipped place surrounded by the tranquillity and beauty of Dwingelderveld National Park and the village of Dwingeloo.

Each AIR resident brings their own practice and research question to Dwingeloo. Discover their plans for the residency and a selection of their work.
Painting, mixed media and installation
Jaime explores how images are worshipped, damaged, transformed and repurposed over time. During AIR Dwingeloo, he will develop Intersection of a gilded fracture, connecting the Dutch Beeldenstorm with the destruction of religious imagery during the Spanish Civil War.
Drawing, performance and activism
Lorenzo works between drawing, performance and activism. He approaches drawing as a direct, shared and materially honest event, and during AIR Dwingeloo will explore how making, encounter and alternative forms of exchange can reinforce one another.
