Jaime González Palencia explores how images are worshipped, damaged, transformed and repurposed over time.
Biography
Jaime completed a Master in Painting at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and a Fine Arts degree at the Universitat Politècnica de València, including an Erasmus period at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. His work has been presented in the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal. In 2025, he received the Pilar Juncosa grant from Fundació Miró Mallorca.
AIR Dwingeloo
During AIR Dwingeloo, Jaime will develop Intersection of a gilded fracture. The project connects the Dutch Beeldenstorm with the destruction of religious imagery during the Spanish Civil War in a flexible polyptych of paintings and banners. Fragments, damaged objects and repaired forms become carriers of stories about power, memory and transformation.
